“The Dime” is a 50,000 square foot site comprising almost 1 acre of developable land and the iconic neo classical structure that was the original home of the Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburgh. Charney Construction and Development in Partnership with Tavros Capital Partners plans on developing a game changing mixed use project centrally located 1 block from the Marcy Stop on the JMZ trains at the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge. The total development will incorporate a 21 story tower on base integrated into the historic bank structure and will house approximately 350,000 gross SF consisting of 178 for rent apartments, 100,000 rentable square feet of office, 40,000 net square feet of ground floor retail, and 340 parking spaces. Charney and partners closed on the land in March 2016, and construction will begin in March 2017. The estimated completion date of the project is Spring 2019.
